Prideaux Place Padstow. Elizabethan mansion, home of the Prideaux family since 1588. Filled with treasures from Royal pictures to Armada loot and the oldest cast iron cannon in Britain. Extensive grounds and deer park with views over the Camel Estuary. Formal garden, 9th century Celtic Cross and Grotto. Restormel Castle Near Lostwithiel. A fortified hilltop since the time of the Norman Conquest. Restormel is one of the best preserved Motte-and-Bailey castles in Cornwall. Huge circular keep and walk around the battlements.

St. Mawes and its Castle A charming fishing village with steep lanes containing old cottages overhung with flowers.
