Or visit Pendennis castle, also built by King Henry VII. Take the ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth with its interesting shops and old pubs; buy a Mussel Card for

The owner has sold his business
but the cottage on the Roseland is let through FalCottages. It is an ideal base to walk the Coastal Path. You can walk 5 mins.
from the door of our cottage at St Just-in-Roseland , to join the path to St.Mawes (2 miles) then take the Place ferry to St Anthony.

Nearby we have some good bathing beaches, and we are only a short drive (4 miles) from Carne and Pendower Beaches. These beautiful beaches join at low tide to give a mile long stretch of golden sand. Or you may just want to scramble down the cliff to find perfect peace in your own private cove. |
The Roseland Peninsula is often at its best outside the summer period especially in Spring when Camellias and spring flowers are at their most spectacular. Nearby are Lamorran, Poppy Cottage, Eden, Heligan, Caerhays, Trewithin, Trelissick but Cornwall has over 70 spectacular gardens, we are within ¾ an hours drive of most of them.

St. Mawes with its harbour and castle, the tiny fishing village of Portloe, the famous creek side church of St.Just-in-Roseland are within 10 minutes by car; the City of Truro with its beautiful cathedral is only 13 miles away. A plethora of National Trust Houses- Cotele, Lanhydrock, St.Michael's Mount, and Trerice to name but a few; Land's End, Tintagel, Padstow, the Tate and the Hepworth galleries at St. Ives, the Minack open air theatre, are all within an hour's drive.

Spring
comes early in the Roseland, daffodils in January followed by
the primroses, bluebells and wild garlic, the hedgerows and cliff
walks abound with wild flowers. In autumn and winter, the beaches
are deserted and roads and footpaths quiet. Walk the coastal path from St Just or meander along country lanes or creekside
footpaths. You can always find perfect peace even in the height
of Summer.
